Bobby J

A few highlights of a self-taught musician turned vocalist turned entertainer. His name - ‘Bobby J’ Jordan. His career has spanned over better than five decades. 

• A New Orleans' based gospel and secular drummer
• The 70's Jack the Rapper Convention
• The NACA (National Association of Campus Activities) College Tour 
• Member of the all male revue - Louisiana Purchase Band - with contribution on lead vocals to commercially released re-make recordings Every Time You Go Away, Baby Come Back, and Ain't No Woman Like My Baby
• Founded and formed (1990) the Bobby J & Stuff Like That Band, named in honor of musical genius and hybrid Quincy Jones...one of Bobby J's influences
• The Gospel is Alive Award from the Jazz and Heritage Foundation (2001) for ‘dedication and contribution to Gospel music’
• A performance at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival (2005) by request of Quint Davis 
• A nomination and selection to the national documentary series - A Small Business Revolution Documentary Video Series, championed by Deluxe Corporation - that achieved national media attention upon release and publication of his resulting video documentary
• Appearances as opener, closer, or alongside Ali Ollie Woodson, Peabo Bryson, Michael Henderson, D. J. Rogers, Chuck Mangione, Patti Labelle, Aaron Neville, Ashford and Simpson, Kool and the Gang, the Drifters, the Dixie Cups, Usher, Raheem DeVaughn, Larry Graham, Air Supply, the Pointer Sisters, Gladys Knight, Billy Preston, Rockin' Dopsie Jr., and Irma Thomas, to name a few 
• Appeared in concert for BET Network with Pieces of A Dream
